Pool and House - Mediterranean or South American Style

Many people in Mediterranean or South American climates need images of buildings quite different from what one would encounter in most of the United States.

I am developing a package of Hi-res textures with this audience in mind, and here's the scene I developed to display them... obviously not a ground-shaking design, but it does display the textures nicely.
added a little glow/tonemapping in post-pro.

I like the second image best, but the stone texture on the house and far wall looks a little flat. The stone wall in the first image behind the pool chairs is perfect.

Are those beautiful plants in the foreground of the second image rendered on the model or are they photoshopped in?
