Paul's test renders

Post by Paul Russam » Mon Sep 07, 2009 1:13 pm

Here's my latest attempt, Once I understood the concept of TW material templates I was able to belt through my model.

This is a 1200x844 with the Express/Easy/09 Interior setting after only 55 minutes!!!, its still going and with luck I'll post an updated image later. I've set the exposure to 2.00, look at the windows, or more specifically the light passing through them!!

Damn TW, you're goooood

Image

If you want to know any of the material settings I'm using, just ask.

The image is being cropped by the forum, here's a link to download the full size http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/373226/Twili ... 02-55m.jpg

I almost suffered a stroke when I saw the photo before reading that it was a photo!

Anyway, you've done a very fine job with the model! May I ask how much time it took you to do the on-site measurements and build it in SketchUp?

Looks great Paul.

Is this scene from the church model you once posted? I'm sure I have it somewhere. I can't remember seeing doors on the model like in your image.

Here's a link to a Picasa web album with a bunch of images of the interior:

And the exterior:
http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/Paul.Russ ... directlink

It's hard to say how long it took as the project was a 'back burner' for quite a while, I started it in 2004! believe it or not but I initially only worked on it when I had nothing else to do. There were periods when I did nothing on it for 6 months or more. Its only in the past few months that there's been any real movement on the project as a whole.
As we speak contractors have not long finished building a temporary church up the road whilst others are currently gutting the interior of pews, lights, furniture etc. ready for the major works to begin.

Dylan:
Yep, its the same model, the one you have probably doesn't have the entire rear end/entrance in it. It was a recent addition to the model after the Monsignor requested a new staircase/lift up to the choir gallery (No lift in the end)

I'm only doing these images a test renders to see if I can break TW ;) . Tell you what, you pick one of the images from the picasa album and I'll have a go at rendering it over night.

I actually really like the image you are already rendering because it has light from the window and doorway.
It would be good to try and get a touch more light in.
Are you using Physical Sky for this?

Or just turn the exposure up a notch.

Edit
Had to abort the render to get on with something else, here's the result after 3h 6m

Exposure at 1: http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/373226/Twili ... Exp-01.jpg
Exposure at 2: http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/373226/Twili ... Exp-02.jpg
Exposure at 3: http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/373226/Twili ... Exp-03.jpg
Exposure at 4: http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/373226/Twili ... Exp-04.jpg
Exposure at 5: http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/373226/Twili ... Exp-05.jpg

No. 3 is probably the best.

I'll setup another view before going home tonight.
