Architecture office

Post by fymoro » Wed Sep 09, 2009 9:47 pm

Hi all,

Here is a project that I am doing for an Architecture company here in the south France.
This Company only work with oversea client, so they ask me to find a design and a lighting easy especially when they work at night.
I have used the Preset 09 and after 65 passes (1h32) here is the result...

The client is very happy with this so, may be I will keep it like this.

When I use twilight, my computer seems to use all it ram (2gb), With Vray for SU, my computer run at 0.600 ram.

thanks for comments, Fred.

The lighting looks well balanced to me.

Why is everyone looking the other way :?:

Thanks for your comment.
The 3d people faces are not really nice  , but i will try another view, changing the 3d people position a little bit.

This looks really nice but the people just do not match. It looks more like a fashion design office with those poses. I would consider different people.
But again, the rendering is very nice.

Yes, the lighting is far better than anything I have achieved so far. I'm more of an outdoors renderer.
You might want to consider not using people or just using a couple good quality photo cut-outs.

good lighting, just delete people and you're good to go. Architects know how big people are. ;) (and keyboard and mouse/pad on right draw my eye as strange... if it's about the lighting, I think it's fine)

*edit*
most architects work only on computer these days, this image looks like it's from about 15 years ago... are they really on drawing boards? I have 11 years of professional experience, and really only used a drawing board a few times at work, though I had one beside me every day... I only used it to sketch ideas on trace paper... a few hand renderings. Not much.

If they do use desks, there's a glare spot on them from the lamp, and I would prefer more even lighting from a desk lamp if it were me.

The lighting is nice and well distributed. I would take the gamma setting up about a 10th of a point or two. The space seems a little dark even though its night time. And I agree, the people don't fit the space. They make the space appear "cartoony" as opposed to professional. You may want to reference http://www.spine3d.com to see how the big outfits do it. Like Ecuadorian said, I think you are better off with 2d 'face me' cut- outs. Great job.

Thanks for your comments, I have just re-render this view without the "Crab" 3d people.
I have used the 10 preset for 5 hours, changing a bit some texture detail's too and increase the exposure level also.

In fact, I am contractor. I have a small limited company, and I do decorating, refurbishment of residential villas or apartments, office etc... In France it's extremely rare to find a Company able to do 3d, and also the job. (I don't know in the other Country if i's the same thing)
I use Sketchup and rendering with my clients to help them to chose their future design or decoration.
And really, Twilight is perfect for me, because I do not have time to setup parameter, texture etc... like I have done before with Vray, Twilight is more practical.
That's why when I do a 3d, I always keep in mind to do something "workable", because after the 3d I also do the job. ;)
I am not a modeller, but I admire the work of some artist here. :thumb:

Anyway, thanks for your help and all comments are welcome, Cheers to all,

Fred.
