I want your opinion. What do you prefer/like more?

Post by silu » Thu Sep 10, 2009 11:44 am

I want your opinion. What do you prefer/like more?
1. render 1 - time: 7h, 16m - 09 render method (unfinished...)
2. render 2 - time: 0h, 24m, 03s - 05 render method

note that: (render 1 - time)=(render 2 - time)*18

Thanks! :)

Hi Silu! :) Welcome!

with a little post-pro to give some depth to the 24m render, it could be extra special. The material of the chair, and of the frosted glass cabinetry doors, turns out better in the first image... that can't really be photoshopped. But may look better with High+... but render times will of course increase.

Nice to see someone mastering the Photon Mapping up to a level it becomes comparable to MLT  .

Hi, certainly very close, by IMHO the first pic is definetly much better.
The flaws of the second is as follow.
1. The under cabinet light emitter was off. Thus reducing the render time.
2. Only grey shadows was achieve instead of dark/black.
3. Lack of details, the flower/twig looks blurrish.
4. Blurrish glass problem on the upper cab.

Anyway a great render! ;)

I agree, they are both awesome, but the first is much better in all the little details, color tone, etc.

I like the first one better as well.
One thing that is bugging me is how uncomfortably close the refrigerator is to the wall. :?

I like the first one Silo, and good observation Eric, the fridge looks like it is 'glued' to the wall.

Yeah the fridge needs about 1.5 inches on each side and maybe even rotate it half a degree. These are beautiful images. Just buy the full version already!!
