Exterior Night shot

Here's a quick play I had last night. Rendered on High preset @ 1000x560 @ 1hr 36m - Setup time - 15 min

I just wanted to play with the lighting in Twilight a little. Normally I would model some of the interior walls and put some curtains in....next time. I used IES lights for the column lights and Miguel's Fire for the firepit. A little PP in PS.

Loving Twilight so far!

:D Welcome, EarthMover!
It is a great start... for the time set up I'm sure you should be happy.

Looking forward to seeing more from you.

For some, night/evening shots are very difficult. (myself included)

We will be posting some modest light component packages for registered Twilight users in the next day or two... hopefully they will be of use to you and others as well.

Thanks Fletch....yes, extremely pleased with the setup time. I'm so used to having to export everything out of SU and into Max for rendering, but Twilight is giving me comparable results inside of SU. Love it! If only SU supported High poly objects and things like Onyx trees, I'd never have to use Max.

Looking forward to growing with this software and this community!

Man, in one single night you've learned a lot!

I think Fletch metioned in The Daily Catchup plans to implement proxy objects so you can display a low-poly version in SU but render the high-poly in Twilight. This would work nice with the unbiased modes (Easy 09-11).

Here's an updated image. Rendered it out w. MLT this time with 160+passes.

It becomes obvious that you've learned a lot in little time, congratulations!

You might want to edit that fire flame a little bit in Photoshop or GIMP, though, as it was just a quick hack to prove a concept, and I left some hard edges.

First , LOVE the lighting. Wow. The only weird bit is that the garden on the left side is brightly lit but I don't immediately see the source of the light. I think the fire is seriously awesome.
