Work in progress
Hi, I have just started using Twilight Render and have attempted to render an exterior pool area I am currently working on.... To be quite honest, I was very happy with the outcome but now having seen all yours I am embarrassed to show... I am going to attach one or two images so as I can receive your comments Thanks B
Re: Work in progress
I especially like the table. Very well done.
I think the woman in the second shot ruins that shot though. I think it would be much better without. Also, I think both shots, but especially the first, could be improved by a background, whether that is a treeline or some terrain or something. Right now it looks like you are on a very tall mountain!

I thank you very much for your comments. I will remove the girl This pool area is on a roof top in a built up area..... I have never worked with terrains but willing to learn what would you suggest I use given the circumstances ?

Re: Work in progress
Thanks Fletch, I have rendered at 08 exterior is this ok ?
Re: Work in progress
Personally I prefer Low/Low+ or Interior, but if #8 Exterior works, then that's great.
I think you could also put in some building "cutouts" in the distance, just a city backdrop png applied to plane in the distance. If it's a rooftop then having a cityscape in the background could work well.

Re: Work in progress
It's actually not too hard. In fact it's probably the best "bang for your buck" and probably one of the must under-used techniques.
I typed "skyline PNG" into google. Scrolled through the results (a lot are just black and white) and found a good one: http://www.mnduiguy.com/images/mpls.png. Download the file to the desktop.
Then in SketchUp, choose Import, select "Image" and choose your downloaded skyline. Add it somewhere in your scene.
The hardest part, really, is just scaling and positioning it for your viewpoint. I just got it roughly in position, then positioned my camera where my render will be and dragged and scaled the image into position.
