Subway tunnel
Re: Subway tunnel
Motion blur can be added using a video editor filter.
Re: Subway tunnel
Good work . I like that 80's cinematography treatment.
Don't forget to add some light in the condutor's cabine!
I just hope you do not "blur" my "anual, around December render" with your flick premier release!

Re: Subway tunnel
Well, the rendering was taking a bit longer than I expected,. Since I'm only home for the holidays I had about a week or so to render it on my PC, so to finish it in time I unfortunatly had to cut down on the quality a bit.
But then, since this is more of a learning experience than anything else I didn't really care that much. Once I have more time and possibly a better system I might re-visit animating again. This poject however will end here, since there's no real point in coming back to this later.
Thanks for the tips and ideas, here's the final result:

Re: Subway tunnel
A quite brilliant result, impressed.
Re: Subway tunnel
Sound please... sound!
Re: Subway tunnel
Wow. That's great.
Re: Subway tunnel
You said you was gonna make it and you did! Really good job! Congrats!
I wonder what should the result be if you had used some of the lower and faster settings instead of MLT with a bigger picture resolution? If you had increased a bit the fps say 30 fps, so that the approaching train gets smoother motion? And if a sound from the rolling stock was added

Re: Subway tunnel
Haha, thanks for the "wow"s and "Oh"s
Now I did mess around a lot with render settings, and what I used here seemed to be the fastest render method. Even at Low+ it took about 10 - 15 minutes to render a frame, and then about 10 minutes to antialias it. Compare that to an average of 6 minutes per frame with MLT. True enough, the frames were rather noisy, and it looked like a strobe light show when you ran the animation due to the random noise seed, but adding motion blur in post-pro made it less noticable. I wish I had more time to render this with higher settings. The framerate could be increased to 30 tho without it being noticable.
As far as sound goes, I wanted to add it! But I just couldn't find a good stock sound for a subway train, they were either really cheezy or requiered a paid subscription to the service. So I had to skip on that one, sorry
Oh well, it's probs not the last animation Ill make, so there's plenty of opportunities for improvement
