Tea set in the boudoir
Tea set in the boudoir
should have used Alvydas' tea set...
This is with Twilight Render DOF and F=8.0
C&C anyone?
I thought I'd share this scene if anyone were interested. Anyone?

Re: Tea set in the boudoir
Other than the wall sconces look like to big glowing eyeballs ( pay me no mind, I'm just a little crazy ) I give it a hearty . One question about the base model though. Curious why the cabinet on the right side is not back against the right hand wall ? The way the corner of the room lines up with the edge of the cabinet closest to the viewer really tends to pull my eyeballs over that way and away from the teapot and table........ still really like the overall look and feel going on.

Re: Tea set in the boudoir
all good questions.
I cannot remember where this scene comes from, but I believe it was downloaded from the 3DWH.
That said, it explains the "why" things are where they are. I was too lazy to be bothered. I, too, wondered why it wasn't against the wall.
I added lights, and did a little furniture re-arrangement.
I'm now providing the scene for your testing and improvements. Looking forward to seeing the work of others.

Re: Tea set in the boudoir
Took some time to have a go with this. Tweaked on the model just a bit. Switched some textures, added some things and shuffled things about a bit.
Big change was going with a more satin finish on the table top, was getting a hard reflection of the right hand bedside lamp on the table . Didn't think it look very attractive so toned things down a bit.
Also changed the F number in Depth Render from 8 to 16. Bumped the settings in Linear Tone Map just a small amount before saving. Only post pro was running image through Topaz DeNoise.
Need to re-run with a different lamp, used one out of parts file and it's not quite "blowing my dress up". Was fun experiment, haven't ever done much with the Depth Render.

Beautiful rendering!
Re: Tea set in the boudoir
Thanks Fletch. You gave me something good to start with. Here's another image. Everything the same except for swapping out the table lamps. Like this one a bit better I think. These lamps work a little better with the overall look of the room.

Agree and I think the overall lighting effect in this latest image is better as well.
