It's a marble horse (of course)... as you can see :D

Nice!

The one thing that looks a little odd. If the ground were really as rough as it appears, the horse wouldn't sit flat on it; it would be elevated a little bit by the splinters etc. Then you might see a small shadow along that front edge which my brain seems to be expecting.

You know, Chris... marble is such a heavy material... I even wonder how those old planks aren't broken yet... :D
Actually I know. It's the thing that bothers me too, but something weird happened to my SU model - and I must investigate it further - that don't let me (seriously, this time) move neither the horse and balls upwards nor the planks plane downwards :?
For the time being I'll modify the base of the base :D to make it cast shadows beneath it  .

Some progress here...
Modeled and rendered inside SketchUp (except the horse, of course).

It was lighted but I wasn't satisfied with the global scene lighting modification it brought, so I spited on my fingers and... voila!

The same scene, this time using a hdr (made also with TWL) from another old project of mine.
For this one I used the native TWL wax for the candle material and another wood for the table.
It looks better to me, except the flame which appears somehow odd (didn't have the patience to modify the light settings  ).
