Magazine inspiration...

Post by Frederik » Sun Oct 25, 2009 7:12 pm

Hi All,

I was looking at a Magazine the other day and it inspired me to make the model of the house shown on the front page...

I used TWR to tweak all materials etc, but since I also wanted to use some of the Xfrog trees I have, I exported it to an XML-file, which I opened in KT, where I could place the Xfrog trees... ;)

I used the #17 preset (Path Tracing Progressive), but unfortunately my 'puter' had a crash after 2 hours (nothing to do with TWR, KT, SU or alike, but something different) render progress... :(
But here's the result, which I hope you will enjoy... ;)

I would love to know the workflow for doing that in PS Fletch.
Makes a massive difference.

I'll make a better tutorial for Registered Twilight Users, but for now here's the secret.

Cheers, Fletch... :^:
You know... I actually tried to use the instancing brush in KT with some grass components, but couldn't make it look right...
And you know me an my poor PS skills...
So thanks for that tutorial... Will definetely come in handy... :D

I'll post the magazine cover page tomorrow, when I get my hands on it... ;)
And maybe I'll also set up the scene again and let it cook long enough to get rid of all the noise...
The 2 hour this one cooked was far from enough, which the heavy noise reduction is a clear evidence of...

BTW... If anybody want this model, just let me know and I'll make it available... ;)
Cheers
