What if you would use indirect light, light sources (daylight florescent or LED strips) placed above and below of kitchen wall cabinets, instead of spot lights. I would change the flush mount ceiling light to some pendant down light and the wall cone next to door to some more indirect light.

thanks notareal, it looks like you put more work into the lighting than i did.
all this disgust in my lighting choices has me looking for new ones. i'll let you all know when i find something i like. i think i will change the singles to wall sconces for sure though.

what do you all think about this living room? :

yeah, i would love to put a fireplace like that and it was one of my first thoughts. but, considering the cost compared to the value of the home  ; can't do it.
btw, here's a render i did overnight with recessed lighting! i also changed the top of the cabinet.

I think that's an actual photo of Notareals house... don't feel bad. :D

What different stone work have you considered?
Have you considered something other than stone on the fireplace?

Sorry, have to disappoint you, but I did we did made a bit different fireplace. I did consider that form, but unfortunatelly did not fit well enough.

Just adding that tree outside made the image so much more lively. :^:
