Twilght/Kerkythea materials into Unreal studio?

Post by Amazona » Thu Dec 20, 2018 3:08 pm

Hey :)

Anyone know of a way to do this? I've got a beautiful rendered scene from twilight but I want to make an interactive walkthrough & can't figure out how to take the materials made in kerkythea over to unreal studio..... is there a way to do it?

If you were to export your scene to Kerkythea format (which requires Twilight Render Pro), the file format is XML. It's readable and parsable. So in theory you could create a converter to create Unreal materials from that (assuming of course that Unreal supports a fully PBR material shader system that is compatible). There isn't any tool to do that right now, as far as I know.

There is this Render To Texture tool from Twilight Render to bake your scene, then you could bring it into Unreal after baking for an interactive scene... not sure if that's helpful or not, just wanted you to be aware it exists.
