It is a while that I use Krita. At first, it was a real nightmare to me as the interface was totally different from what I got used to, but after a while and watching several videos on youtube and experimenting it just wondered how powerful it is. I am preparing a Sketchup+Krita tutorial also.
During the learning process, I did two book illustrations. The first one was semi-digital; I drew the linework by hand then colored the scans. The recent one is a coloring book and I did it mainly because I was intending to learn the linework digitally.
Here are some of my experiences.

It seems there is an upload number limitation so here is the rest, This is the fully digitally done one and details of my drawings:

The RGBA brush let you mimic oil painting and as far as I know, it is unattainable in Photoshop. I crafted some new RGBA myself after watching relevant videos on youtube. Here are one of my drills:

As Krita has a set of tools to rectify image distortions, nowadays I usually use it to rectify taken photos and use them as textures. https://docs.krita.org/en/reference_man ... sform.html
(Photoshop also has similar tools but Krita has gathered them under a single toolset)

I may not state a specific date, as it is part of a series of tutorials on Sketcup+Krita+Blender 3D, and I am so busy. Despite its complicated interface, Blender 3D is a fantastic tool for texture mapping and model subdivisions, etc... . Hopefully, the Krita+Sketchup will be the first in the row.
