It looks like no one on page 5 checked the "Fit to proportions" box...that will change your result. Would love to see those numbers from you guys. :totgm:

If you select the fit to proportions box the render will not be 1000 x 1000 but rather 1000 x whatever your screen ratio is, so you need to keep that unchecked for the speed test.

Those with wider monitors or with SketchUp full of toolbars get the fastest results with that box checked...

My bad - for some reason I thought it was supposed to be checked...I went back and re-read the first post. :dho:

Actually, the first post in this thread contains a render done with the box checked... notice how it isn't actually 1000x1000 but 1000x548...

I catch my mistake and I change render time to the real time :^:

Maybe we could update the startpost with some kind of ranking? So we can compare specs.

Any system may vary that much from render to render.

In XP, I tested the "worm" several times, and the result was min: 39seconds; max: 40 seconds.

I've just re-tested with Windows 7 Pro 64-bits. Now my result, again after running multiple tests, is minimum: 34 seconds; maximum: 35 seconds.

This means I have just got an extra 14% of "worm performance" by just upgrading from XP to 7 :D. I read somewhere that Lynnfield had been developed with Windows 7 in mind and that Windows 7 handles multi-threading better. This seems to be true.

I'll try with my other test files, too, to see what the variation is.
