black screen

Post by johann64 » Thu Oct 02, 2014 8:13 am

hello!

i was using twl 1.5, then downloaded v2 Hobby. is there a rendersize-limit? if i try to render bigger than 1600 wide i get a black Screen, still it seems the Rendering is running...
br

so i found out that it has to do with changing the Bloom during Rendering. so dont post-pro duríng Rendering!

This means that hardware acceleration is not compatible with your video card. You may post-process, but first you must turn off hardware acceleration (which only helps for the post-processing).
Go to pull-down menu Plugins>TwilightV2>Options>Options>Hardware Acceleration>No hardware acceleration

Can you tell us your specs for your video card/machine?

thanks for the advise!

i got a nvidia nvs 300 and a quad-core.
i just tried to render a pic 5000 wide with Hardware acceleration off, but all i see is a black Screen...

now i changed the width to 3000, and it works fine, still the Picture appears when the raytracing is at 8%.
during this i sure can postpro on the fly without any Problems.

with 32bit SketchUp we are limited to 3Gb RAM, so I'm sure you are hitting the RAM wall.

i never hit the ram-wall with v1!!!

i also found out that with some models v2 can´t update the rendersettings from v1 to v2...don´t know why.

the task-Manager Shows 940mb of usage, width 1950, rendermode easy 10, 8% of pass 2: the Viewer Shows a black face...

now i tried a width of 1350 and it works.
can you please tell me why?

also there is a problem with the . or , : without any reason sometimes the numbers are written like 1.02 and then 1,02 (?)

There are a few bugs with the conversion process that we have found and are fixing. We will be releasing a maintenance release soon that fixes these.

You should always use the '.' for decimal places in Twilight Render.

Make sure Hardware Acceleration is set to None (under Twilight V2 -> Options)

Agree... It's a mystery... :!
If I were in your shoes, I'd buy the v2 at such a low cost it's a bargain and it will help support continuous development... ;)

I still don´t know (I should read the specs exactly) what the big differences are between Pro and Hobby... (I know the preview window...)
In my opinion the Hobby version V2 performs better than the V1 which we had to pay for. :-)

Question: Is it planned to use the GPU together with the CPU in the future?
