M1 to V2 Update

Post by anagurney » Fri Oct 24, 2014 4:27 pm

Your update to V2 is still not transfering a lot of materials and lampshade items from V1. I get a long list of errors when trying to render in V2

You probably don't have the libraries in an accessible location.

What version of SketchUp are you using to do the conversion?
Where are the libraries that aren't being converted located?

I have SketchUp 2014. The materials are in my SU library as are the Lampshade_fake_Twlight items.

What is the exact filepath to the material libraries?

Computer/OS(C:)/Program Data/Sketchup/Sketchup 2014/Sketchup/Materials. The Lampshade_FastFake_Twilight items are from the V1 Twilight Library. Not the SU library.

That location is not a place Twilight Render looks for material data (since it is a SketchUp folder and not a Twilight Render folder).

Place the libraries here: C:\ProgramData\Twilight\Materials
V2 should be able to load them if they are located in this folder.

Some of the materials are still not transfering. When I open the material selector in V2, the materials that have not transferred says that they are "dark materials". What happened to the Twilight Library? None of the lights, etc. are transfering from V1. Does the same path for the materials un SU 8 apply?

If your material libraries used with V1 were installed into SketchUp Materails folder, then Twilight will not find them.

The materials libraries where installed per the path Chris suggested. That is: C;/Program Data/Twilight/Materials for SU 2014 or C:ProgramFiles(x86)/Twilight/Materials for SU 8.. All the materials don't transfer in either SU 8 or SU 2014. Will you be adding a Twilight Library to V2 or do I need to continue using V1 to use them?

I don't think I suggested that at all. Libraries should only be placed in C:/ProgramData/Twilight/Materials regardless of the version of SketchUp you are using.

Please post the the exact conversion error message you are receiving for converting the materials. If you have placed the material library in question in the correct directory, please zip and PM me with the library (or post the link where you downloaded it).

Lights and all other V1 settings should convert. If you have a scene that doesn't convert correctly, please post it.
