V2 32 bit Hobby limit on image size?

Post by richaney » Mon Mar 02, 2015 10:38 am

I know there isn't meant to be a limit on the V2 Hobby output image size, but I am having trouble getting anything more than a black rectangle out of an e.09 or e.10 internal progressive render of a scene when I try for an image size greater than 2048px wide. If I run it at 2048px wide, or smaller, then I immediately see light forming in the black after even only 1% of pass 1; but get nothing after a full pass 1 on any larger image sizes for the same model and scenes. It takes a while to run the passes, so I am loath to keeping it running overnight only to find I'm still left with a black screen - unless anyone can confirm that it will sort itself out?

I am using V2.2 32 bit Hobby on SketchUp Pro 2014, threaded x8 on an i7 3.40 GHz processor and 64 bit Win 7 Pro O/S. Is anyone aware of any specific limitations that could be causing the blackouts?

Thanks

Chris

A 32 bit application is limited to less than 4GB of memory. Most likely you are running out of RAM.

Try reducing the size of any large textures in your scene.
