Disco Trees

Post by JDZYN » Sun Mar 27, 2016 5:34 am

So I inserted some trees into my model from 3D warehouse, and suddenly the scene's a disco.
07 Easy; HDRI sky w/ sun off.

Only lights in the scene are a couple of point lights in the upstairs of the home on the left...
Thoughts?

This is likely from the HDR sky. Use a blurry, very low res version of the HDR, or use the Sun/Sky rendering settings.

Thanks. Is that the setting I should typically choose when using an HDR?
What's the "science" so to speak, behind it?

So I tried it... using just the medium setting... and it took twice as long and still has most of the spots. :/

The HDR is likely the problem.
Render with Easy 09, or use a different HDR> did you use the blurry version as I suggested?:rtfm:
