Hospital patient rooms

Post by ScottPara » Thu Feb 18, 2010 8:17 pm

From concept to final render 8 hours. All modeling done in Sketchup. Comments welcome. I know the renders are not perfect but for the time frame I had this is perfect for the client.

Amazing!
Could you please tell us what parts are from libraries and what parts you had to build? So us slow modelers don't feel that bad.

The following were library items:

Bed (modified version)
flowers
medical instruments
Wall art

BUT, there was another room and nurses station done in this time too! ;)

Excellent work, Scott... :hat:

If I should come up with any advice it would be on the wooden walls...
IMO they look a little too flat... You should apply the Plastic > Satin from the TWR Material editor template and also apply a bump-map...
In my experience with photo realistic rendering, tweaking materials a little can add A LOT to the final render... ;)

Frederick,

Thanks for the advice. I am still learning Twilight (this is only the second time I have used it) so I am getting used to the materials and the tricks of what to use when.

Eric,

And I LOVE Twilight. I would ditch Vray if twilight offered displacement mapping! Hint Hint Twilight......

Nice work Scott :^: , I also think displacement feature is a great lack on KT engine. Although there are good textures and bump maps around, corners will never look good. BTW what presets did you use?

My presets are all default. I have not even started tweaking those yet.
