Hotel room

Post by fymoro » Sat Sep 11, 2010 4:07 pm

Hi all,

A new composition, and this time a bedroom...
Model from the web and the furnitures and decors are from my library as usual, I have built all the rest... :D
This time I think SU is at it's limit...The full scene is about 114 mega...hard to save without a bug...

5 hours at preset easy 9, 62 passes 1400pix, neat image, Postpro with ACDsee (really cool and cheap soft) Overlay with the su scene at 10%, contrast, border and text, That's it...
I am not happy with the curtain linen material... :( I will change it...

Crits and comments are welcome... ;)

Wow, this is amazing!

Where did you get the high poly models from?

Agree with the curtain, they look a bit like some kind of metal kind of fabric, those to prevent against sparks while welding...
Maybe the base of the lamps on the nightstand needs a bit more reflection? The glass should show more of the light reflections/scattering from the bulb above it, isn't it?

But this is just my humble opinion. Not sure if, as a starter, I should comment on these kind of masterpieces :? ;)

Ron.

Oh and BTW not sure if I would stay in a hotelroom like this, my wife would be too happy with the full frontal view inside the bathroom :-D

Another great image. More tips and inspiration to work from.

Would you mind telling me what version of ACDsee do you use, the Pro or the Home version?

Thanks,
O2bwln

Thanks for your comments,

I changes some material preset and this time render with easy 10 for 9 hours...Same post pro, and I have also used a "vignette" to darker the edges of the image...

Ron, the high poly models are from my library, and I also download a lot here: http://archive3d.net/ very nice model in 3ds and free... ;)

Thanks Tom...

O2bwln, Thanks, I use Acdsee pro 3, you can find it here http://store.acdsee.com/store/acd/en_US ... .156603200 not expensive and really easy to use... ;)

Great image. There is an odd shadow line in the ceiling. I'm not sure what is causing that Straight Shadow Line to appear.

from the specular reflection on the shiny wall below the "odd shadow" you mention, it appears that the corner of the room there is built from a glass curtainwall/storefront system, and is therefore allowing sun to shine in without being covered with curtains there.
