Modular shelving WIP
Modular shelving WIP
This is based on a previous model.
Ive been thinking about that concept for a while and the design is still very much a wip.
I desperately need storage for my office, so I might build one soon, but then at the same time I would like to end up with a "product"...
I did a couple of renders for fun, then I started to think about the one I would put in my office, then started modeling my office...
Any C&C about the design or the renders would be great
Cheers

Re: Modular shelving WIP
Love the system. Have you figured out the fastenings yet or is it just a concept. Your renders are very nice, but the glass is a little off. I think it should have a greener edge.
Re: Modular shelving WIP
Looks like a very cool system.
Great renders! Love the lighting in the first 2 studio shots.

Re: Modular shelving WIP
@l_breault: I dont know yet how to attach everything. It will probably be some kind of knock down connectors. This is almost the least of my worries, I am sure there is a way to do it.
Yeah, the glass looks strange. It was my lighting setup.
@Fletch: As you can see, I am not very good at interior scenes. This is what I am trying to learn right now.
You definitely became a Topaz denoise evangelist! Good stuff indeed, but I cant afford it now.
I'll think about your suggestion, thanks! I dont quite know yet... it was an attempt to add a little dynamism to it and to make it more interesting when looking from the side.
While talking design, my goals are:
1-Design the "first" UPSable shelving system
2- either floor standing, hanged on the wall or as a room divider. I think the latter would be awesome.
3- Preferably as flexible as possible, but that is obvious.
4- have different storage solutions to add as options to the empty box.
Anyway, heres is my last render. I worked mostly on the lighting. It is now very close to my real office, though it is not a very good lighting setup.
Cheers.

Re: Modular shelving WIP
open storage can look messy to me, so I like the closed storage units.
Lighting/image looks great to me! Still question the guy sticking out at the stairs. It's definitely not up to code for ADA.

Re: Modular shelving WIP
ADA? Do you mean American Decency Association?
Yes youre right, I will definitely change it. It is even worst a wardrobe prototype at the right above the stairs
I agree with closed storage (I have a dust problem being so close to the shop), but at the same time I prefer the lighter look of opened storage and it is way quicker to find what your looking for...
Cheers.

Re: Modular shelving WIP
ha! well you are in Canada, so, while we share the same building code (generally speaking) maybe you don't have to deal with the ADA.
Re: Modular shelving WIP
Amazingly simple, but optically too big blocks for me.
