the flight

The models of the balloons are from 3d warehouse. Just a soft high pass filter and a slight colour and saturation correction in post pro. Easy 09 74 passes. :)

Excellent. At first sight I can't tell what is photo and what is CG.

Let me guess... You placed a gigantic water plane to reflect both the photo and the baloons, right?

Yeah, of course you're right. ;) Here you have the very simple SU's set-up: just a very big plane with a water mat+bump and a gravel texture on the bottom.

There a hot air balloon festival near Montreal. Their flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/montgolfie ... 052592967/

Obviously you dont need anymore inspiration, but it is still interesting nonetheless.

Massimo, where are born your ideas???
Ok, ok i have to confess. I was inspired by this ugly old and peeling daub i have in a dark corner of my basement. And also the glass is broken...

Simple idea, great results. Thanks for the screen shot to explain the setup. What is the resolution of the background image? It came out very clear.

And I almost believed the watercolor painting for a minute.
