New Clubhouse

Post by Persistant » Fri Jul 22, 2011 3:47 pm

Hey Guys!!
Wow I really like SketchUp and Twilight. :whoot:
Some quick background info. 2 weeks ago work was really slow so I took 1 full week and learned SketchUp as best I could.
SketchUp is great!!! I was using LightWave for about 3years and before that I used 3D Max VIZ/Vray. And before that FormZ.
But man, I jut love modeling in SketchUp. So anyway about a week and a half ago I bought Twilight (which is awesome  .)
I searched the Forums and learned/downloaded as much as I could in the last week.

Anyway here is my first Project. All modeled and rendered in SK and Twi.
This is the first client Draft med resolution. Need to touch up in Gimp and add people and maybe other stuff.
I'll have some more views from this side and around back where the pool is. I was just excited about the new Software and wanted to post.

I read alot here on the forum and want to say you guys are a great group. Thanks for all the info. I still have alot to learn about both software.

Fletch,
Thanks for the welcome.

Here are the three drafts I sent to the client. They need to decide on materials and some design.
I cant say enough I really like working with this Combo SK+Twi.
Well towards the end of next week I need to start on my first Interior with this combo.

Really Nice Illustrative style! :^:

That pool shot's a winner. Except perhaps the blue of the water could be more light green.

Fletch, hey looks good.
I did the final renderings, and the client loved them.
But they got rid of most of the vegetation. I did change the color of the water.
Ill post some low res versions of the finals. No people and very little vegetation.
That was one of the requests. Usually its the other way around.

:^: Very nice!
May I ask about your grass and asphalt settings? Your bushes and near grass are all modeled?

Here are Low res versions of a couple final images I sent the client.
Client slashed most of the vegetation and people, whatever keeps them happy.

Fletch, man I like your water color better. How did you just select the water for the color adjustment?

All the shrubs and plants I think I found on the google warehouse. The grass is a high res image I made a while ago and I applied a fine noise bump to it. Same for the pavement but I also think I used one of the plastic template materials to get a bit of a shine to it, so its not so flat and boring.

Take care.
