Grouping lights

Post by TSPCo » Sun Jan 15, 2012 1:22 am

I am working on a model that uses about 30 point lights, I want to use an ies file to make them work realistically, but not one at a time, that is a major pita

  1. Create a component with your light fixture in SketchUp.
  2. Open the component to edit it.
  3. Place a Twilight Light object like a spot or point light inside.
  4. Load the IES file into that light.
  5. Copy that component all over your model.
  6. Now, if you change one light, you change them all.
