What I meant was, the more you zoom the image of the model, the curved surfaces need more segments. To what Kronox explained (better than I), not happen.
If you do a rendering of a locomotive and some wagons, curved surfaces do not need so many segments. Of course I'm talking about a median image resolution.

Removed the blues with one push of a button. As I am also doing some photography I gave it a try in Adobe Lightroom.
I think it does ok.

I am now in the process of adding some parts to the loc and doing some experimenting with indoor lighting and floor reflection.
Hope to do a render soon.

That metallic texture looks realistic. Can't wait to see how it advances :^:

After some trying and adding a few details I came up with these two renders. I think they are rather well.

Those are looking great!
I think you could perhaps make a better lighting studio... either using a pre-made HDR studio:
(study this thread thoroughly, it's perfect for studio shots like yours.)
:>: Best thread ever about product shots/studio shots on Twilight's forum.

or by using the studio that comes with Twilight Render's component package in the Red Carpet Resources here:
Twilight Components

Thanks guys. The following render I made with the prebuild studio fletch mentioned. I was surprised how much more
realistic the materials look. The bit on the HDR files I don't understand yet. I discovered that there is more to
rendering than I first thought. I guess I have a lot of learning, reading, drawing and rendering to do.
But hey, it's fun!
