Yesterday I've modelled this lamp of Ingo Maurer and rendered it.

perhaps wine glass model is too thick, resulting in the dark glass.
what render setting was used?

The setting was low. The wineglas is fymoro's model, shared here some years ago.

ah, it was the low setting causing the dark glass. ;)
