Testing Night Scene

Post by kenancakir » Thu Nov 20, 2014 4:29 am

There is a little render competition on our facebook group, sketchup türkiye, and i decided to render with twr v2 hobby.. In the past, i used twr for a while but v2 is awsome big thanks to twr team.. It is work in progress, i wil add some trees and something else and i can change or add anything you suggest.. Hurricane lamp model is from warehouse and is twr ready.. Background is a jpeg inside sketchup.. 50 pass and 4 hours 09-interior.. I don't know why image looks like this, right part of it is missing on forum preview..

Hi kenancakir, It is looking quite good. Only the pool is really "wrong" looking.
Don't miss the Subject: Pool at night which contains a pool scene at night ready-to-render!

Thank you, it is floating water, and i made it with sandbox and made it bumpy, it is not material's bump.. Thanks for the link, i am looking.. But i have a problem, i add four trees and twr is not rendering the scene.. I hide plants layer and in render window i activate it.. But not working, any suggestion?

The trees probably have something wrong in their model files. Many 3D warehouse models are bad in this way. If the tree is not the problem, then it is a RAM issue. Eliminate any very high-resolution textures, such as a high resolution spherical sky and try to render.

Create new clean blank scene and insert a single tree and try to render. If it still will not render, you know that the tree is the problem.

If the water bump is actually modeled, I would not do this (I have rendered more than 500 pools as a professional), but rather just use flat surface and control with perlin noise procedural or other bump map. This will give you easiest control.

Simply watch the water settings we give in the first video tutorial in our series, please!
Subject: V2 Video Tutorial Scenes

If you prefer to keep water modeled as it is, scale the water in the Z-axis direction to be 1/10th the height it is currently. Then maybe again scale it to be 1/10th of that new scale so that the bump is very subtle.

Good work. Good luck in the challenge! Perhaps add more light (brightness) the pool at night wouldn't be so dark. Or try the exposure so we can see more. It's mysterious now, but to be romantic, I think it needs to be more visible.

The pool is better now.

I think the 4 pipes look like sewer pipes, not attractive. I think the floor in the pool looks dirty, something wrong with the texture perhaps?
