Quickie Renders

Post by Boofredlay » Tue Dec 09, 2014 3:04 pm

I had almost no time when I did this back in September. Safe to post now as the bid has gone out and the project starts construction this week.
I used Twilight 2 for this and was amazed at the speed improvements.
I did these at 6000 px wide and it took under 8 min on a quad core. That is nice speed for this much glass and a 38MB scene (the entire interior of the project was modeled as well).
I then used a Fotosketcher filter and blended the two in Photoshop.

Please don't criticize me on the landscape, like I said this was a rush rush and I just threw a bunch of growies in to fill the scene.

I think they look great, and obviously they served the purpose, and the job is moving ahead. :^:

Sure, the grass and growies could be better. The light-colored metal panel material could be more reflective, but since it is not it rendered much more quickly, I'm sure.

Thanks Fletch. Actually the metal panels are pretty close as they opted for a matte finish.

These are cracking, well done. BAng on the money.
The above is probably a stupid question. Thank-you for your patience.

Really good, Bo!

Even a matte finish might give some reflection in such a building, but you'd probably not catch it in this style anyway. The first image works the best I think. Only single thing that would really add value at this point, is better grass, and perhaps pavement. Thanks for posting.

Thanks guys.

How is this for coincidence. About an hour after posting these I was asked to get them printed for our new office space. The middle one above will be printed at 8' wide. The other two at 4' wide. Now I wish I had more time to do better landscaping.

well done mate :^:

also, good selection for shadows too as the shadow casting emphasises the curved surface quite nicely
