Raspberrys

Post by Chris2topher » Thu Jul 30, 2015 3:07 pm

A bit of a play with the deep material editor to try and get raspberry's looking realistic. Don't think I quite got there! Any suggestions/comments welcome. Rendered using Easy 09 - only let it bake for 20 minutes.

Thanks for the compliments!

Material is based on subsurface scattering template. The raspberry uses textures maps in the 'diffuse', 'transmitted' and 'bump' layers. The diffuse is the base material whilst the transmitted layer includes a transparent image file (weight 0.25 and 1 for weighted texture layers). Bump speaks for itself, again using a texture - set at 1.

'Colour' Index of refraction is set at 1.4, shininess is 50, clarity is 20, Scatter (fog/falloff) is set at 50. I've included a screen dump of the material editor - not sure it helps!

The leaf is based on the standard translucent leaf template. Texture map (png) of a leaf is the 'colour' applied to a simple shape (black background on png texture becomes transparent and only shows the leaf) with the leaf bump map texture applied in the bump channel.

Its a bit of playing around and a lot of sample renders to get the right look (including lighting)

Hope that helps and doesn't confuse instead!

I'm :wall: to :rtfm:
