In the country - Skatter

Post by Chris2topher » Mon Jul 04, 2016 6:57 am

Thought I'd give the skatter plugin a go. General scene modelled using sandbox with the vegetation models coming direct from the skatter plugin as well as grasses from the skatter 'Meadow' tutorial. The vineyard is from the warehouse. Added the haze/early morning fog using the depth render and post pro in paint.net.

Nice! Good to see other skatter renders. I really like the flowers. I think a little DOF would really make it great.

One recommendation, the default material Skatter uses for grass is a Translucent template. This looks great for close up renders but renders much more slowly. I tend to replace the material with a standard plastic or paint template.

The grass in the foreground looks great - the objects in the distance could be much improved.

Thanks for the comments, always appreciated.

I agree with the comments on the background objects, the trees are only 2D objects and the building was literally dragged and dropped from the warehouse without any further modification. I tried to hide the lower quality with fog - didn't work!! The main purpose was to trial skatter and so that's where the effort went.
