Sanctuary

Post by olishea » Tue Sep 22, 2009 5:11 pm

This is my first render with the full version of twilight. Just testing material editor/lighting etc.

I woulda used a spotlight but I don't understand the setup yet. I could see the spotlight falloff but not the source of the light so I just used a point light instead.

No bumps or anything yet......my diffuse map kept transforming into the bumpmap when I loaded one??? looks like i'll have to read the manual :o  :o

Any comments/crits are welcome.

Preset 09, 50 passes

Cheers

Welcome, Oliver. Nice to have another artist here.
I know I'm too lazy to read manuals or follow step-by-step tutorials, but I did like the PDF versions of the videos, as I could quickly scroll down to the next slide. You can find them here (Use the "save video as a PDF" option in each one):

Love the big concrete maps. How do you do that?

The ceiling looks a little low to me. Maybe because there is no familiar scale to reference. Is that in a bunker from WWII?

Thanks. I didn't even realise there were any videos!!

The ceiling height is 2500mm.....it is the bath that is big....but thats what its actually like-a big bad tub!!

No its not a WWII bunker, it's what I imagine would be a peaceful place with these brutal materials.

The texture is just a huge image from cgtextures.com
