T.V. Stand - Added Images

Post by tuna57 » Sun Apr 16, 2017 8:05 pm

First version of an entertainment / t.v. stand I'm thinking about building. Decided to do a render. Arroway textures for the wood. HDR light tent by Rayman from the Kerky site. Wasn't in a hurry so ran it on Easy 9. Let render run while doing other work. 302 passes in 4 hours. Did minor adjustments in post pro, bumped up exposure a little and tweaked the temp just a bit.

Edit - In responce to suggestions made by alvydas I messed about with my t.v. stand some. In keeping with my intent to learn more about getting the most out of Twilight with out resorting to a bunch of work in an external photo editor, here's my second go......
Changed backdrop to a lighter color, switched my HDR light tent to a brighter one and rendered this image on easy 8 , 350 passes , 1 hour and 45 mins.
Image "2c" is straight out of Twilight, image "2c7000" I bumped the temp from 6500 to 7000

I think both the images are good, which is better ? Darned if I know. You be the judge. I'm figuring out this rendering business could make you crazy if your not careful !

You can correct slightly the contrast and lightness :^: .

alvydas, I understand the point your trying to make. I purposely didn't take the image into a photo editor. I was experimenting to see how good an image I could get just using Twilight's post pro tool. I ran the exposure up to 1.8 anything higher was blowing out the image to badly to fix with the temperature adjustment. After the exposure adjustment I adjusted the temperature 2 clicks to get my colors back where I wanted them. Although the adjustments you made to the image are very nice, to my eye the wood texture is a little oversaturated. Not a knock against what you did , just trying to point out everyones eye is a little different. Your comments are always appreciated.
Fletch, thanks

Great work tuna57 I'm with you on the post pro in an external editor. I think Twilight has offered some really good post pro tools with in TWI if you can get good with them. If your on a Mac have you experimented with the color adjust tool in Preview?
