Subway tunnel

Post by RTD Laboratories » Mon Oct 16, 2017 8:58 pm

Heyo there!

So for the lack of anything better to do with my time, and being bored of static renders, I decided to give animating a try. Starting off simple, gonna be a train going through a subway tunnel.

A few days of work, got the tunnel part done (just ignore the fact that it's cut off further down, I'll add stuff there later), but it just doesn't feel quite right and I can't really tell what it is. I've been tweaking it here and there but still not really happy with the result. So yea.. any feedback is really apprechiated! Ty in advance!

 The amount of detail in there is amazing! Very impressive.

I think it looks great. The only thing I can think to add is some debris on the floor/tracks (especially in the lower left).

Agreed, looks good. I used to work in operating theatres and we frequently got called to attend an underground station where some poor soul had ended up on the track and we would have to cut them out. The debris/detritus of rubbish is about the only thing I can think of as Chris has said. These are dirty and dingy locations. Otherwise it it is properly atmospheric.

Oh right! Didn't think of that, but yea it would be a nice detail :^: . I'll probably add some more saturation to the lights to give the scene some more color.

(btw from looking at reference photos most tunnels look rather clean, which I guess makes sence since they have maintenance works there every night.)

Wellp, little update here. I'd say Im done with the tunnel itself, next step would be making the train and hope my laptop won't give up on this model. Here'e what the scen looks like this far (with a bit of post-pro):

Oh and thanks for suggesting the debris/trash, it does indeed add atmosphere to the scene ;)
