Aga/oven range.
Aga/oven range.
Another of the old home items which I will play with textures on. An oven range of the kind fitted when the house was built in 1865. The hdri is irrelevant, just a test.

Those are made from cast iron right? Because in the render it looks a bit too smooth, you should add a bump map to it. The texture in itself isn't bad tho.

Ta mate but not happy with it myself. There is detain that just does not show in the render AND, how much rust would there be on a working unit regularly cleaned? Finding a decent texture that works is a pain but the detail may just have to be emphasised by overscaling.

Re: Aga/oven range.
There could be some rust down at the bottom and at the grill where you put the fuel in, but other than that I think it would be rather clean. As for the texture, since it's pretty uniform you could try creating a procedural texture for it, I've not messed a lot with them but the results seem to be pretty good.

OK, changed texture, the background was just for light hdri. Still coming up with not quite it yet.

Like where you're going with this Mike. Would be great to see it in context of a kitchen of the period.
