Linking textures?

Post by NStocks » Wed Jul 25, 2018 7:33 pm

If Im rendering on two computers, I copy the sketch file and the folder containing all the textures, however when it comes to the computer where the textures were not created, twilight has no textures (maps) in the editor window.

This means every materials needs to be relinked individually which is insane!

Is there a way around this??

If using Twilight Render Pro you should:

1)go to Render dialog in SketchUp on the original computer where the scene was developed.
2)Choose the Render Pull-down menu inside of the Render dialog.
3)Choose "Eport to Zip" and it will package up all the stuff you need to render.
4)unzip file on Computer 2
5)Open the .skp file on Computer 2 in SketchUp and Twilight and hit render - it should find all the stuff it needs if you don't move it anywhere.

All versions of Twilight:
If you want those textures located elsewhere on Computer 2. Open Twilight (on computer 2 ) Options dialog under "Extensions>TwilightV2>Options>Directories" then Browse to and choose any folder you like. Twilight will search that folder for any missing resources. It should also search any sub-folders of the folder you choose.

Ah, as a hobby user I take it there isn't a way around this?

You should follow Fletch's second recommendation:
