Hi Fletch
here you go.
here you go.
Re: Question to Fletch About Volumetric Light Beam
Audiologist,
Sorry I don't know how I missed your post here.
There's something weird in the file you posted.
1 You have an exterior and interior surface of a box around your scene. Both are "Default" material. You have applied the volumetric material template to the Default material (not advisable). You should always make the volumetric material a specific/unique material in your scene, and it should only be applied to the box that is encompassing the objects on the "stage" including the lights.
2 Your light was set to 50000 watts which is not advisable. Set your lights to appropriate watt power and adjust exposure of scene in the Render Window bottom right corner "Post Pro" menu.
3 Better to build the volumetrics box containing only what you need contained.
Please see attached.

Re: Question to Fletch About Volumetric Light Beam
Hi Fletch.
Sorry for super late reply, was busy recently.
The reason I created two boxes and applied Volumetric, is I read the tread somewhere that I need to create a box and another box slightly smaller to that. Well before I reply this, I have already tried that actually one box will do
So, that was my problem eh? The box was created with Default Material, then applied Volumetric? I will study your reply and try it again, and will get back to you with results.
Thank you very much Fletch, appreciated.

Re: Question to Fletch About Volumetric Light Beam
Fletch,
this, is also two boxes. one for the whole scene, and one for the stage.
Those boxes seems transparent, with 0 opacity? Both the big and small boxes applied Volumetric?
My lights are created using projector light, which if I use normal Watt, it will be too dark in the scene. I have no problems with Spot lights in normal Watt (1000w). I will try adjust the exposure later.
When I create the box, I created them the usual way in Sketchup, then the box is not transparent. so, I did try to make it 0 opacity, with the colour tool in Sketchup. Then I apply Volumetric to the box. Is this where the problem be?
If so, how do I create the transparent box for the stage?

Hi Fletch
You said : You should always make the volumetric material a specific/unique material in your scene.
How should I do that?

I don't have Volumetric in the list.

Re: Question to Fletch About Volumetric Light Beam
Paint the volumetric cube with any unused SketchUp material - I use a color like Magenta or something, then In the SketchUp Materials Dialog under Edit you will rename the color and change the color to pure white - any color that it is will be used by the volumetric template - so if it's pink, then the volumetrics will be pink.

Re: Question to Fletch About Volumetric Light Beam
Fletch, I tried what you told. But still the same.
I wasn't using Default Material, but still I don't see Volumetric in the material list. So I guess that's the problem.
Here's the new scene I tried with.

Re: Question to Fletch About Volumetric Light Beam
I added a "Stage" to your scene that you posted previously, no problem at all.
And a screenshot of your material editor, there is a Volumetric Material in your list. How do I get that?

Re: Question to Fletch About Volumetric Light Beam
You can name your material "Volumetric" - that's how you get a material named "Volumetric".Fletch wrote: ↑Sat Feb 09, 2019 6:52 pm Paint the volumetric cube with any unused SketchUp material - I use a color like Magenta or something, then In the SketchUp Materials Dialog under Edit you will rename the color and change the color to pure white - any color that it is will be used by the volumetric template - so if it's pink, then the volumetrics will be pink.

Re: Question to Fletch About Volumetric Light Beam
Fletch,
that's OK, doesn't matter. The problem still exist............
This is the light with angle of 25 x 25
And this is the light with angle of 45 x 45
And then I add a FLOOR.........
Seriously, I have no idea.................
