Got Milk? SSS

Post by rangerrick » Tue Feb 19, 2019 11:48 pm

The milk is a custom material using the deep material editor. Its close but not perfect but I spent way too many
hours tweaking and re-rendering so for now I will post the result of my efforts and put this one to bed.
Lighting consists of 2 IES spotlights and an HDRI
Rendered with Easy 10 Interior +, 2hours, 70 iterations on an i7 6700. Minor contrast adjustment in Photoshop.

Milk & cookies yum...... Only thing I see wrong is you should have a "Crazy Straw" in the glass. :rspkt:

I want some now :D
Great render :^:

Only thing is, the milk looks a bit too clear towards the bottom.. Maybe it's been staying out in the glass a bit too long :)

Right on Posodrac, low fat skim milk is what it does look like.

Attached is another render using the stock Twilight Subsurface Scattering Milk, same lighting, but it leaves a lot to be desired.

Thank-you!

Hi RangerRick - did you try this milk material already? :? It should be in your stock Twilight Materials. Go to "import library" in the Twilight Materials dialog.

CORRECTION - JUST saw your last post.
Yes, it doesn't look right in your rendering. :(

What kind of glass are you using? The laterals look odd to me!
Do you got the geometry right? Including faces?

Wow...this is awesome. You really brought the liquid to life, which isn't easy.
