would it be possible to add the bump texture on the reverse side of the face and get Twilight to read that UV coordinate?
I rem vaguely something like that being implemented in Skindigo.

First, hi jj! Welcome! :D Long time, no see!

The UV map matches the UV on the front face. Keeps things simple.
Using "Make Unique Texture" and applying a different bump works for getting the 'look' of an independent UV mapping, or using a mat. with a procedural bump makes the bump independent from the UV map.

Wouldn't painting anything on the back face confuse users? :?

of coz keep it simple! and yes.. i should imagine it might get confusing if there are loads of doubly textured faces! ;)
just brainstorming here! ;) :D
