twilight render with image

Post by lucadentone2 » Thu Feb 13, 2020 12:43 pm

Dears I have a simple question. I have in sketchup an image png insert in a scene and a model of a house insert on the image. When I am trying to use twilight render 2 , the render is done only for the model in sketchup but not for the image in the background. Someone can help me to resolve this problem?
My objective is to do a render of a model realized in sketchup and the image where the model is overlapped

Thanks

Luca

It sounds like you are talking about a "Photo Match". If so, Twilight Render doesn't render the Photo Match backgrounds. You could create a plane and place the image on it and then position and size it appropriately in the background. Then Twilight Render would render it.

  1. Render image at exact ratio to match the original background photo
  2. Render Alpha mask at 2x resolution of final rendering, resize down in photo editor
  3. Use photo editor program (like Photoshop or The Gimp)
  4. Use Alpha Mask to overlay Rendered image on top of Background photo

Dear Chris and Fletch for the answer. I am very new twilight render. Can you please explain better what I have to do because I didn't understand your suggestion.

Just to clarify my problem is very basic and I think it is a basic tool of every rendering software.

a have a picture PNG. I imported this image in sketchup. I create my model. I used the tool of sketchup to overload the model on the picture. I use twilight render to render the totality. It is not working on the picture but only in the model.

How the render can work even in the picture?

Thanks

Luca

Twilight Render does not load the background picture in automatically.
You can set sky in the Environment Settings to "Background Image" and "Fit" and choose the same image to be rendered with your model.

Hi!

I think I have the same problem: Black renders in SU 2020 & 2019 (but not 2018)

After importing png¨'s and jpg's they renders in Twilight v2 to black only - despite default settings (and no matter how many threads...) in versions tried out here, SU 2019 & SU 2020:
model made in 2018, rendered in SU 2019
model made in 2018, rendered in SU 2019
SU 2019.JPG (466.87 KiB) Viewed 7767 times
model made in 2018, rendered in SU 2020
model made in 2018, rendered in SU 2020
SU 2020.JPG (441.54 KiB) Viewed 7767 times

In SU 2018 everything works OK, though
model made in 2018, rendered in SU 2018
model made in 2018, rendered in SU 2018
SU 2018.JPG (489.72 KiB) Viewed 7767 times
Any help would do..
