Rendering translucent white polypropylene

Post by g4125 » Thu Jan 12, 2023 1:50 pm

I'm trying to render white polypropylene boxes, but can't seem to grasp how to do it properly.

I understand that TR doesn't use the opacity settings from SU, but when I try different TR translucent settings I can't achieve the right effect. Basically as I reduce the alpha or translucence of the object, the box colour turns from white into dark grey. How do I keep the object white whilst making it translucent?

I'm pretty sure it's not a lighting setup as other items around the white boxes are correctly exposed. Admittedly I'm only using low render settings as this normally works fine for my requirements.

This is the sort of item Im trying to replicate.
