ragged surface

Post by Tolkien » Mon Aug 07, 2023 11:48 am

Hi,
I am having a real problem when I try to render a molding with a 45 degree angle (as shown in the picture).
I tried rendering it without a texture but that had the same result. I also tried fiddling with the solid and the twilight settings but I can't seem to figure it out. does anybody have an idea how to fix this?

Can you share the .skp file?

somehow when I put the solids in a clean sketchup file for transfer the problem just went away.
So thank you!

I'm glad that worked for you, but it's important when you run into problems like this to be sure your geometry is "clean" or "good" geometry - which basically means that your geometry is not a mess of tiny triangles. Good quad modeling is best.
