Moving sections Plane + Mover?

Post by Pilou » Sat Oct 17, 2009 9:57 pm

Hello
Seems moving Plane sections inside animations are not rendered :o
Only "Mover" plug objects are rendered :)

Here a file test with animation Section plane for Stair
same object (Stair) in the same time is moving by Mover Plug
Wishing that my friend has made some mistakes for the rendrering
I don't make the render animation my self (just animation file of the test)
Waiting with anxiety your answer :totgm:

Hi, Pilou. The link you posted says that "I am not authorized to download this attachment".
Could you please post the link to the post or thread?

However, as far as I know, the current version of Twilight can't render sections.

Hello. In my personal wish list, the first is: SECTION render.... ;-)

Miguel ("Ecuadorian") has posted a tutorial about how to make section renders:
http://twilightrender.com/phpBB3/viewto ... f=12&t=419

You will need two plugins; Zorro2 and SectionCutFace for it and be warned that it is a destructive method so always do it on a copy of the model only.

It is not possible to render animated section cuts with this method either (unless you make a section cut for each frame and export a still image to be stitched together later).

Not very practical for an animation image by image! :o

Why this happen? Where is the glitch? In SU, In Twilight, in Ruby....

SU's section cut is an OpenGL rendering thing. It does not actually cut your model. There is no glitch.

Yes, in fact there is no real cut in SU either - it's just a visual cheat.
But as PR renderers render what is there, they cannot be cheated so easily.

On the other hand, you cannot make animated section cuts in SU either without revealing the internal "hollows" and that would cause serious light leaks in any renderer.

Of course, I would also be happy to see a solution for this ;)
