The IES file could not be located.

Post by jcuellars » Tue Dec 01, 2009 1:57 am

Hi,

I'm trying to play with some IES I just downloaded, but when I load the IES file and render my scene, the spot light is the same as default and in the dialogue box says "The IES file could not be located. Light will not render with IES data". I'm sure that I am pointing correctly the file, but if I change the IES file location to the root of a share hard drive that I have in my PC Works. I just want to have organize my files inside a folder called IES. What I'm doing wrong?

Thankyou
Jaime

In the first example it could be the non-ascii characters in the path... I'll try it out and see.

In the second example, I think there is a bug where it finds it in the correct place, but it thinks its not. :)

Hi Chris,

We are talking of the same file, I just copied to a diffrent hard drive in the same machine, maybe the "ñ" is not recognized. As you said the ASCII translation could be the faulty guy.

Right, exactly. It's not the name of the file or the file itself, but the folder path to the file. I'm working on providing better "multi-byte" path support for IES files and textures. In the meantime, you'll probably need to have your ies files and textures in a path without non-ascii characters.
