Mac license

Post by red_shift » Thu Dec 17, 2009 9:02 pm

If I purchase a PC license will there be a way to transfer that license to the Mac when the OS X version becomes available? I am running the demo version right now, and really am enjoying working with Twilight even in demo mode.

I hadn't thought of it that way, but you are right! It's good to see a renderer that works so nicely with Sketchup. I work primarily on a Mac so I'm very anxious to see a version for that platform. I think a lot of other people will be happy to see Twilight on the Mac as well. Will sure beat using Maxwell (which I use) or Vray for simplicity. I integrate fairly quick renders as sort of a lighting pass into my NPR work and I am finding it's really straightforward to use Twilight to quickly add realistic interior lighting.

Does this mean I shouldn't expect to see a Mac version anytime soon? It's not in my budget to buy a PC just to run Twilight.

Unfortunately we don't expect to have it available soon. No one involved is a native Mac user (or really a Mac user at all), so porting to Mac is slow.

There are so many render programs that run cross-platform there must be people who could help you with the conversion.
