Curtain
Curtain
Here 2 images with curtain on window. I found out: Curtains need amazing much rendertime.
Renderpresent Low+
Image Curtain 2:
Rendertime with Curtain 2 hours
Rendertime without them 10 minutes
Sun as lightsource
I also found out: My PC (4 Treads) is not fast enough... Problems with rendertimes is first Hardware and then Software! So i need new Hardware but i have to wait some years for that How many treads should be in a PC?

Re: Curtain
The curtains, especially in the second image, look great! Good job.
The picture on the wall in the first seems strangely muted.
And yes, translucent materials do add a lot of time to the render.

Re: Curtain
The scene looks decent and looks like you're moving in the right direction.
But beside the curtains, wish you could have worked other mats as well, seems too dried up.
Sometimes it's tought but keep trying!

Re: Curtain
This is because i was not able to set reflections like it has to be, i know this is not so goodChris wrote:

Re: Curtain
Here the same picture rendered with Interior 11 hours 25 minutes in size 427x342 and saved as hdr. Then opend with Motiva and saved as jpg in 1280 x 1024. Interior is definitively not my Present. After 11 hours it is not so much better then low+, is it even better? I guess i will never use unibiased Presents...

Re: Curtain
Zac, Zac..! It's worse maybe.
But you know, I didn't ask you run an unbiased yet. I just wanted you to spend more time with the mats.
Hmmm.......I ran a couple of test on biased method with the demo just to see how different it might look.
Poor scene , poor lights....but probably I scraped through with the mats..hope you don't mind, but it's for reference.

Re: Curtain
Zacchia that is not a fair comparison for several reasons. Backround image is not same (or located similarly) , that changes mood of the render a lot. Other render uses AA and the other has no super-sampling. When saving as hdr from unbiased rendering, it's your responsibility to do super-sampling and post pro. You should always use supers-ampling when rendering with a small resolution (under 2000 pixels wide). Also your post pro has made hdr render rather flat. These jpg seems to have also different compression ratios and different compression artifacts too.
Re: Curtain
It's was meant literally as a comparison for a couple of mats. Definetly not the scene.
Thanks notareal, hope I can help out in better ways next time.

Re: Curtain
you need more work on materials, they are very flat at the moment. also, you cannot expect a nice render with no detail, no matter how much post process you do. nice renders dspace, wall reflections look great

Re: Curtain
Thanks Oli, just thought seeing is more believing and there're always much more to learn, esp from you guys!
