Bed Chamber

Post by Boofredlay » Wed Nov 25, 2009 10:53 pm

Thought I would change pace from abstract to application.
With the 19 (2 out of view) IES lights, 4 LEM's and a point light this bugger is taking forever. 9 hours so far and it is still grainy. Of course having so many high poly "trinkets" in the scene is not helping speed either I would imagine (15.5 MB file, only 2 MB without the smiley, glass shapes, boxen, dice, crate and vases).

good start... :^:

art lights?
curtain material?
bedspread?
not a very exciting floor.

wall sconce light power way too strong

what material is on the walls/ceiling? typicallly ceilings are flat white... walls satin or eggshell

Yeah, there is a bunch of things I could do differently.

Eggshell wall and ceiling.
The sconces have fymoro's #9 IES in them.

Here is the inspiration BTW.

Nice try! :)
IMHO everything looks too stiff and at times out of scale.

Oli, if you are referring to the second image, it IS a photo... or a render from another place. (could easily be a render)

Boo, what are your exposure settings on your image?

I believe this one was 1.1 and the Gamma .7

I have scaled the bed to a king size, not King Neptune size, rearranged the scene a bit and am cooking another render (while the turkey and ham are cooking).
