as I pointed out, the reason it's grainy is multi-fold. it would be grainy for this scene whether rendered with KT via Twilight or rendered in KT directly... the problem is still that it's a dark scene, so will take some time to clear with Easy9.
The more light in Easy9 or 10 the faster it will clear... it is no different in KT directly. They are rendering with the exact same engine. All Twilight does is simplify access to the powerful engine. It's as if you took an engine from one vehicle and put it in another, it is still the same engine... but one may fit better to you and be easier to drive.
12hrs is relative to which machine one is using to render... speed of machine, amount of light in scene, materials used, etc. etc.
