Do any of you twilight pros have any guides or tutorials for rendering atmospheric effects in twilight?
I have a feeling its possible playing around with the volumetric light features and using a really big light instead of the sun.
any help or advice appreciated

There is a "Volumetric" material template in Twilight Render's Materials.
You must apply that to a volume that contains your objects.
Please also try the test scene here:

Here with Sun-Sky preset settings "03.SunSkyHigh"
The scene will likely work
even without the library installed.
Twilight V2 now has a "Volumetrics" template that you can test on this scene.
Simply apply the various Volumetric template materials to the SketchUp material called "Volumetrics" and render with the Sun-Sky render presets for good results. Quick test render using Easy 02-04 render presets.
Download the test scene here.
