Fletch, I sent these to him before I posted them up. I still have not received a response from him. Reading some of his interviews he used to be in the video game industry but gave up 3d media years ago for illustrations. I hope I have not offended him by replicating one of his ideas.

Just HDRI lighting yes.

I think the background goes quite well with the subject! That's really a fantastic model to "play" with... :^:
Have you considered a Naive Style Approach?! (It's begging for it)
