Been watching some video tutorials, but can't find any for Mac users.
they all seem to be for PC users.

Other than using the Command key on Mac instead of the CTRL key on Windows, are there major differences between Mac and Windows that is hindering Mac users' ability to learn from the tutorials available? Have you tried to follow the video tutorial series linked in my signature?

yes, I have been looking at them. will report back later. Thanks for helping!
I want to get the best quality rendering I can for my client, and assumed that the "exterior daytime settings should yield the best results, but seems like that would take several days or maybe even a week to finish even on my Mac.

That render setting is best with sun/sky with Physical sky. Not HDRI, or any other lights in the scene. With HDRI and other lights, Easy09 is best quality. Combined with Fastforward Denoise, you should be client ready in minutes at HD resolution.

With Fastforward Denoise addon, it will render relatively quickly with Easy08 or 09, depending on resolution of the image. For 1920x1080 HD image I would expect render time with fastforward and Easy09 to be between 3 minutes (low complexity scene) to 15 up to 30 minutes for high complexity night scene with a lot of high poly furniture and many lights. But everything is relative.

In addition to Fletch's information, it is important to point out that the "progressive" render methods like Exterior DayLight, Interior, Interior+, are all methods that you run until you are satisfied with the result and then you stop them. They are designed to basically "run forever", but it's not intended that you let them run that long. Often, 20 iterations is enough. If you have the Denoiser that Fletch is mentioning above you might even be able to get away with as low as 5, depending on your scene. That could render in just a few minutes (again, depending on the scene).

To clarify, the Fastforward Denoise addon for Twilight Pro should work fine in CPU mode on your system.
